Lane Hartwell: Bubble Buster and Party Pooper

Canada's coming DMCA will be the worst copyright yet - Boing Boing

The Canadian government is about to bring down Canada's version of the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, and it promises to be the worst copyright law in the developed world.

DVD licensing group to vote on closing copying loophole

This week, the DVD Copy Control Association—the group responsible for CSS copy protection—is expected to vote on a Managed Copy Amendment that would close a loophole in the CSS license that allows home media server products like those made by Kaleidescape to legally rip DVDs and store encrypted copies on a hard drive.

Sounds like a poorly written license to me...

iPhone software update does 'brick' unlocked handsets - Tech
