Here's a good overview/timeline that puts it in historical context.

I've Got The Monkey Now - The Daily WTF
I don't know know why - but i got a good kick out of this comment.
I think it might actually be cheaper to just hire some goon to test your site than it is to hire a guy that actually knows how to wire up these web-based integeration and end-to-end tests. If it was for school, I'm sure they just picked up some undergrad and payed him 5/hour to type in the same stuff over and over again.
Here's what actually happened with the WTF, though. In the distant future of the year 2002, the "Single Search Result" failed on the "monkey" keyword. As a result, the administration sent a lone QA tester back to the year 1998 to prevent this from happening. His mission: make sure there was extensive testing of the "monkey" keyword to avoid the failure in the future. Little did ...

FuturesBuzz.com - Options Information - Futures or Options?
FYI - tells you the differences between futures contracts and options contracts...
While futures offer price protection by allowing the holder of a futures contract to lock in a price level, a major appeal of options is that the holder of an options contract is afforded price protection, but still has the ability to participate in favorable market moves. Because the buyer of an options contract has the options contract but not the obligation to perform, he incurs no expenses beyond the initial premium. Therefore, if the market moves against a position, and a trader holds on to this option, the maximum cost is the price he has already paid for the option.
Bond insurers | All fall down? | Economist.com
AMERICA’S big bond insurers, which have underwritten some 2.4 trillion of private and public-sector bonds, usually go about their business largely unnoticed. But now they are looking distinctly wobbly they have started to attract attention. If one or more of them were to topple over, there will be a huge knock-on effect on banks and other financial institutions that rely on their guarantees. This in turn will further worsen the credit crunch and cause an even bigger headache for policymakers already grappling with a sharp slowdown in the American economy.
Startups: Why A Real Market Of A Few Is Better Than A Mythical Market of Millions
I talk to entrepreneurs all the time that are very excited about their idea because "…the market opportunity consists of millions of potential customers!". This line of thinking then eventually leads to reasoning that goes something like this:

James Watson did it. So did Craig Venter. Now you can too. On Thursday, Knome, a personal-genomics startup based in Cambridge, MA, announced the launch of the first commercial whole-genome sequencing service. Only 20 people will get to be part of Knome's first sequencing flight; interested parties can find out more here.
Tips and tricks for Entrepreneur: To The Struggling Entrepreneur
Having been in self employment for over 12 years, I have come to understand two things that define the life of most entrepreneurs. The first is incredible faith, faith in ourselves and in a future that grants us financial success and personal freedom beyond our wildest imagination. Secondly and contrarily, the chaotic and desperate feeling of being backed into a corner wondering if we can make it through one more day!
Edgeio To Shut Down - In The DeadPool
Mike Arrington's startup is in the deadpool - how on god's earth did they blow through 5 million in 12 months? Most startups in the web 2.0 space don't need more than a 1 million, if that, to prove out a concept. I'd really like to know how that much money was spent in a year....
Edgeio, a company I co-founded in 2005, had a final board meeting this evening and made the decision to shut down operations of the company. We are putting it into the TechCrunch DeadPool.
Edgieo first launched in February 2006 after a beta period. The company raised a small angel round of financing, then in October 2006 closed a 5 million Series A from Intel Capital and Transcosmos.

and the facebook backlash is in fool swing~
As Quittner writes correctly, right now it is the press that has turned on Zuckerberg, which is sure to be followed by much more important advertisers, who shy away from controversy.
We’ll see how it plays out, but it is surely a flash point moment for Facebook.
Or in the immortal words of actress Joan Crawford: “Love is a fire. But whether it is going to warm your hearth or burn down your house, you can never tell.”
